The registration fee includes the conference dinner (April 22th). Lunch and accommodation are not included.
The invoice will be issued within 10 days of payment. If you were unable to complete your registration fee payment before February 27, 2026, and you wish to upload your abstract or need assistance with payment processing, please contact us at protist@paru.cas.cz.
Abstract submission guidelines
1. All abstracts must be submitted via the Online System only till February 27,2026. Login to the Online System is provided right after the registration fee is paid.
2. All abstracts must be submitted in English only.
3. Authors can modify their abstracts until the submission deadline on the website.
4. Each active participant may upload only one abstract. If there is insufficient space for oral presentations, we may ask you to present your work as a poster instead.
5. Participants will be notified about the form of their presentation by March 6, 2026. We do not expect to reject any active participation if it falls within the general scope of the conference (all aspects of protistology in a broad sense, i.e. including algal research, interactions of protists with other organisms and viruses, evolution of eukaryotic cells, evolution of multicellularity, global eukaryotic comparative studies, Myxozoa).
How to prepare your abstract
1. Title of the abstract: max. 110 characters

Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (GBMF) has kindly provided funds to cover registration fees for five students from Czech institutions who lack sufficient financial support. In addition, the GBMF will support the participation of up to five early-career researchers from under-resourced regions worldwide. Participants supported by both special funding programmes shall have active contribution (poster or talk). The application deadline passed and programme is now closed.
Holtz–Conner travel awards announced
The International Society of Protistologists (ISOP) generously provided a total of USD 43,000, supporting 37 students and postdoctoral researchers. Holtz–Conner awardees were announced on January 30, 2026 and programe is now closed. Here you can find a graph summarizing the number of awardees by country, based on the country of the institution they are affliated with.
What should I do if I need an invitation letter?
Answer: If you need an invitation letter (e.g., for a visa application based on institutional funding), please contact us at protist@paru.cas.cz, and we will be happy to assist you.
When I can submit my abstract?
Answer: Once your registration fee is paid, you will receive login details for the web, where you can upload your abstract
At which step do I have to pay the registration fee?
Answer: You will be asked to pay the registration fee after submitting your registration form. If you are unable to make the payment at that time, you can pay later using the payment details sent to you by email. The payment link is valid for 7 days; if it expires, please contact us at protist@paru.cas.cz, and we will provide you with a new link.
When will I know if my presentation has been accepted as a talk?
Answer: The abstract submission deadline is February 20, 2026. We expect to make decisions on talks and posters by March 6, 2026. Only if we do not have enough time slots available for talks, some participants may be asked to switch to poster presentations.
Will the abstracts be published in peer-reviewed, citable conference proceedings?
Answer:The abstracts will be made available to participants in an online format. They will not be published in a journal or as a book with an ISBN. However, the conference program, including poster and talk titles as well as the names of the presenting authors, will be publicly available.
