Deadline for Holtz-Conner applications: January 10, 2026.

Announcement of Awardees: January 30, 2026.

Deadline for early-bird registration: February 2026.

Abstract submission deadline: February 20, 2026. Registration fee payment is required before the abstract submission.

We have planned the deadlines so that recipients of the HC award will be announced before the early-bird registration deadline. However, if you already know that you will be attending the meeting anyway, please do not delay your registration — you may end up paying more for accommodation and travel than you anticipated. The fact that you are registered will not affect your chances of receiving the support.

Special Funding Opportunities to Attend the Conference

We are pleased to announce that the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (GBMF) has kindly provided funds to cover registration fees for five students from Czech institutions who lack sufficient financial support and who will actively participate (poster or talk). In addition, the GBMF will support the participation of up to five early-career researchers with active contributions from under-resourced regions worldwide. If you or a colleague would like to apply for one of these two special programs, please contact us by February 10th, 2026 at panek3@natur.cuni.cz, and include a short motivation letter and the abstract of your proposed talk or poster.

FAQs regarding Holtz-Conner Travel Award

Are registration fees and meals considered eligible expenses for the HC award?

Answer: Meals are eligible up to USD 200, registration is not.

Are Czech ISoP student members also eligible to apply?

Answer: Yes, Czech ISOP student members can apply, but they need to justify their expenses. So, if they are based in Prague, they can only request the meals. If they are based in Brno, for example, they can request meals, transportation, and accomodation.

Is a proposal either fully funded or not funded at all, or is partial funding also possible?

Answer: Partial funding is a possibility, and indeed is the most common situation.
