Optional Excursions
We are pleased to offer three optional excursions for conference participants.

Guided Tours of Prague’s Historic Centre

• April 19: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (before the conference programme)
  • Language: english
  • Focus: highlights of Lesser Town and Old Town  and overview of the history of Prague from the Middle Ages to the present day (A guided walk exploring the exteriors and one church)
  • Distance: approx. 6.5 km walk
  • Duration: 4 hours, including transport from the hotel and back (public transport)
  • The price includes public transport tickets and one drink of your choice at a café along the way. 
  • Tour difficulty: moderate
• April 23: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (after the conference programme)
  • Language: english
  • Focus: highlights of Prague castle district, Strahov Monastery, Hidden corners of Lesser Town (A guided walk exploring the exteriors)
  • Distance:  approx. 5.5 km walk
  • Duration: 4 hours, including transport from the hotel and back (public transport)
  • The price includes public transport tickets and one drink of your choice at a café along the way
  • Tour difficulty: moderate  

Each tour will accommodate a maximum of 15 participants. Registration for the guided tours can be made as part of the conference registration process. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The tours will start and end at the conference hotel.

Half-Day Trip – April 24

The bus is provided by the conference; participants will only need to pay the entrance fee to the castle. There are 45 spots available. Conference participants and their companions can register for this optional trip at the conference registration desk (April 19 and April 20) on a first-come, first-served basis.

9:00 – Bus departs from the Grand Hotel International

9:50–10:45 – Walk to Karlštejn Castle

11:00–11:50 – Guided tour of Karlštejn Castle

12:30 – Bus departs for the Grand Hotel International

13:30 – End of the trip (Grand Hotel International)
